Recently I took
the trash from the kitchen and dumped it into the garbage can.
There was
the super thin garbage bag lining the container.
The bad
stuff went where it belongs and the trash can stayed clean.
That light
weight garbage bag did the job well.
Weeks ago there
was a situation when the garbage bag liners were not used.
The mess
left behind was terrible.
It took much
time and energy to clean the container.
This is
another part of my modern life that I tend to take for granted.
I see you
there silent servant.
The situation weeks ago was related to the garbage can and not the kitchen trash can.
ReplyDeleteTo save money I had been dumping the contents of the trash into the garbage can.
Then I would reuse the garbage bag until it looked nasty.
That saved some money on not needing to buy as many garbage bags.
But then along came summer and the flies got into the garbage can.
There were many dozens of maggots crawling up the sides of the can.
I used a few splashes of bleach to kill them.
But then I needed to hose out the yucky garbage can.
Somehow before June the flies and maggots were not an issue.
