Sit Securely

The metal chair is held together thanks to the work of the welder.
Those joints are united by beads of melted steel that were carefully placed.

The welder and his equipment are long gone.
The paint hides the solid contacts.
Yet without skill applied properly there would be no chair.

Today I can sit securely due to those solidly connected parts.

  1. I interpret the original directions to observe carefully then write and publish. In my busy suburban life I do not get much exposure to nature so I must be mindful of the common stuff around me. I am glad that I have been continuing at this discipline of writing daily for more than a year. It has helped my thinking and my writing.

  2. Yesterday I was taking a rest and noticed the welding on the chair across from me. I was seeking for more small stones to write. As I pondered that wavy evidence of the welder I put notes on an index card. Then I developed it today as my offering.
